The prophet of illogical thinking

June 27, 2006 — From April 1-6 2006 Al Bashir summoned those belly-diplomats representing his “Evil Regime” interest abroad at the expense of Sudanese for what the now subterfuge politician once upon a time a revolutionary gimmick termed a diplomatic paw-paw. But this was clearly an occasion to celebrate the triumph of Islamic tyranny in the country. Our government cunning foreign policy, Al Bashir said, outmanoeuvred the best of international laws and has borne real success-it should thus continue. This in essence explains why Lam Akol divorced his liberation roots because he would be insane to have firm principles given the fact that he migrated to politics with an empty stomach. How can a foreign policy designed for a narrow purpose continue to serve a broader cause?
As we are made to understand the pillars of Sudan foreign policy are the vehement protection and polishing of Al Bashir all time criminal track record; the tricking and louring of investors which began prior to the conference with a $1.5 million four-page advert on New York Times, an occurrence compliant-journalism in Sudan treated as normal practice. That diplomat’s achievement would be measured by the extent to which they defended the government ill acts, enhance its image aggressively abroad and to what degree they attracted investors in light of the investor-unfriendly circumstances in Sudan is unfortunate. It remains to be seen whether the designated SPLM ambassadors would eventually toe Bashir line in a manner of Akol.
On the occasion of a-good-faith Thabo Mbeki visit to Khartoum last week-to prod the illogical Islamic theocrats to allow UN takeover of AMIS peacekeeping in Darfur. Bashir saw scaremongering a weapon and together with other guilty conscious Islamists ante their nonsensical creed-that Mbeki is a surrogate of western imperialism! Poor Mbeki, how embarrassing to an African son who genuinely loves to see the continent freed from arm conflicts. With hindsight, however, hope Pretoria now understands that friendly dictators make for a bad peace-mongering allies and sleeping in bed with them is a definite No! No!
The anti Blue Helmets sentiment uttered by Bashir and those minute people profiteering from an Islamo-fascist authoritarian status quo is nothing short of a defence mechanism to safeguard their survival. The insistence that a Jewish-Westeners axis is afoot to re-colonize Sudan are far-fetch and smacked of conspiracy theory; that Mbeki is a cheque-book politician dispatch to Westernize Africa makes Al-Bashir an illusory genius at best and a prophet of illogical thinking at worst.
The UN must takeover the peacekeeping efforts from AMIS with or without Bashir consent. If Al Bashir spearheads a Jihad against the Blue Helmets he would be asking the people of Sudan who certainly are fed up with his regime to cast a revolutionary overthrow against him. Sudanese generally know the UN mission is vital to their interest. Sudan is neither an Islamic nor an Arab Muslim country. Majority of Sudanese are not Christians or Muslims except according the Islamo-fascists propaganda. The blanket assertion that most Sudanese are Muslim and they reject deployment of UN troops in the country to avoid an Iraqi experience is hollow, and threats for Jihadism should never be heeded. The importation of Islamists from Mid-East to carry out the war agenda in Sudan is an empty obsessive rhetoric.
A clever despot would have foreseen a chance to reform, but propagation of lies and counter lies would return to haunt Bashir someday. Behaving like a frustrated male baboon who lost control of his colony and sexual potency denotes Al Bashir senses his grip on power is on the verge of disintegration. Naturally every ideology at some point becomes inferior and people would ditch it and subscribe to new ones.
It is also sad to hear time and again the toothless SPLM representative in foreign affairs ministry who distil his frenzy from NCP blueprint childishly saying, what is good for Arab Islamists is good for Sudanese, he would do better to finally overhaul and lubricate his rusty brain. The SPLM exists in the national government of pseudo-unity in order to keep NCP on its toes and to help implement policies ideal for peaceful and national social cohesion. Surely the current one-sided Sudan foreign policy needs urgent adjustment and SPLM would make us all proud to agitate for the long overdue change.
