Deby praises Sudan government’s efforts towards peace in Darfur

NJDEMENA, Nov. 16, 2003 — Chadian President Idriss Deby has commended Sudanese government’s efforts which are aimed at achieving peace in Sudan, particularly security situation in Darfur. He said the government had presented real seriousness, and sincere and courageous position.
This came during an interview conducted by [Sudan] television with Deby in Njdemena. President Deby said that ties between Sudan and Chad were witnessing progress on the bilateral, regional and international fields.
President Deby said the newly born African Union has mechanisms of development and renaissance for the progress of the black continent.
