July 3, 2006 (RUMBEK) –The Government of Lakes State minister of Agriculture resigned in his ministry on 30 June 2006 last two days ago, over row with Lakes governor. But Southern Sudan vice president minimised the issue.
Col. Khamise Abdulatif told Sudan Tribune he has resigned from his ministry due for misunderstanding between him and the cabinet of Lakes. He indicated that his plans and projects for the rehabilitation of the agricultural projects in the region were ignored.
Furthermore Khamise, who is a minister of the National Congress Party (NCP), said he was designated by National Congress Party (NCP) to join Lakes State government as the minister of Agriculture and Animals resources and not for destructions of Lakes State.
Col. Khamise Abdulatif is also the military man in, since Khamise sworn in last November last year, he keeps going to the office wearing the military uniform. “I would go back to my party and join the Sudan Arm Forces (SAF) without failure. I do not care for the ministry of Agriculture and resources in Lakes State” Khamise said.
“Goodbye corruption of Lakes State” Khamise concluded.
The Lake State government said Adulatif had asked permission to go to Khartoum but the governor requested presentation of his agriculture development plan for the region before his departure.
The Vice-President of Southern Sudan government Riek Machar minimized the row saying the issue resolved at the stage of the Lakes State. He further denied the formation of investigation commission.
