Mia Farrow campaigns to save Darfur’s children
July 9, 2006 (NEW YORK) — Actress and UNCIEF goodwill Mia Farrow is sending out a message to her fellow Americans via radio, and is asking the US government to ?force a political solution’ to the genocide in Sudan’s Darfur region.
Farrow appeared on ABC network’s “Heartland with John Kasich” show and pleaded for the US government not to turn a blind eye to the war-torn region where thousands of children and people were suffering because of the war.
“We have a responsibility to our brothers and sisters in Darfur, and when we see a genocide unfolding, there is stuff we can do and should be doing, and we are not. We have to implore our government to force a political solution”, the New York Post quoted her, as saying.
“I love people. I’m a mother of 14. I have adopted 10 children, and the way I see the world is we are a human family and when one of us is suffering, all of us suffer,” she added.
