US Bush, Sudan Kiir to discuss peace implementation, Darfur
July 19, 2006 (WASHINGTON) — U.S. President George W. Bush will welcome Salva Kiir, first vice president of Sudan’s national unity government and president of the government of Southern Sudan, on Thursday, the White House said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The President looks forward to working with First Vice President Kiir. The two leaders will discuss implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, establishment of the Government of National Unity of Sudan and the Government of Southern Sudan, the situation in Darfur, and the expeditious deployment of U.N. peacekeepers to Darfur.”
