Sudan says keen to boost relations with Eritrea

July 31, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — Second Vice-President Ali Osman Taha has reiterated the importance of strengthening and promoting relations between Sudan and Eritrea in all domains for the service of the two peoples.

Taha was speaking today when he received an Eritrean ministerial delegation at the cabinet secretariat. The two sides discussed joint cooperation, particularly in the field of agriculture and economics.

For its part, the Eritrean delegation stressed the keenness of its country for the realization of security and stability in Sudan, as well as boosting of bilateral ties in the interest of the two peoples.

The Sudnaese minister of finance and national economy received in his office Monday the eritrean minister of finance and the governor of the Eritrean central bank to discuss promotion of trade between the two countries.

The two sides talked about the technical cooperation and training they also agreed to coordinate positions in regional and international organizations.
