The panels are the political Committee under co-chairmanship of Mustafa Osman Ismail (NCP) and Deng Alor (SPLM), the Security Committee co-headed by Idris Mohamed Abdelgadir (NCP) and Barnaba Banjamin (SPLM) and the Economic Committee co- headed by Ahmed Majzoub (NCP) and Kosta Manibi (SPLM).

The NCP Deputy Chairman of Political and Organizational Affairs, Nafie Ali Nafie, said in press statements following the meeting that the branch-committees had started their works and tasks of discussion of all issues and would present their visions in the coming meeting.

Nafie hoped to discuss conflictual issues within the established committees instead of the media.

The SPLM Secretary General, Pagan Amum, on his part, expressed satisfaction over the meeting, pointing out that the meeting discussed issues of information and foreign relations besides all issues on the agenda. He affirmed desire of the two parties to overcome any differences and build a strong partnership on solid basis for realization of comprehensive peace and democratic transition in Sudan

The Saturday meeting is expected to discuss Abyei and the UN peacekeeper to Darfur. The partners have different positions on the two issues.
