South Sudan prepares for fifth population census
Aug 29, 2006 (AL-OBEID) — Chairman of the Statistics and Assessment Organ in South Sudan, Azaya Chol announced that the organ plans to carry out early arrangements to launch the fifth population census in all states of South Sudan.
Chol said that these arrangements started by training cadres which are working in this stage in three Equatorial states and Al- Buhairat state, the state-run SUNA reported.
The Chairman of Statistics and Assessment Organ in South Sudan pointed out that south Sudan participating for the first time in preparation for carrying out the fifth population census.
He said that the coming period will witness more plans and programmes which contribute in statistics and assessments operation in South Sudan.
Chol arrived Saturday in Al-Obeid city to attend the technical group’s meeting for the fifth population census in North Kordofan State.
