SSUDA maintains leadership of Biel Rambang, suspends De Chand
South Sudan United Democratic Alliance (SSUDA)
Press Release
The SSUDA/SSDF Leadership Still Under the Chairmanship of Commander Biel Torkech Rambang
August 29, 2006 — In reply to a Press Release issued by Peter Chuol Gatluak, in which he alleged leadership reshuffle within the ranks of SSUDA; the leadership of SSUDA wish to inform the public that “it’s totally untrue neither meeting nor leadership reshuffle has taken place”. On behave of the entire organization I would like to alert SSUDA member not to worry, because the leadership is still in its structures and nothing has changed. We need to work together and stop those individuals who are working to set us up for failure. SSUDA is a very young organization that cannot afford any deviation from its goals and objectives. Therefore, illegal action will not be accepted or tolerated. Knowing that strength comes under one umbrella we cannot allow unthinkable situation to happen. In order to achieve the party goals, we must all stand together and speak with one voice.
SSUDA Executive Office believes learning from past mistakes will provide us with some experiences that make us not to repeat them. For instant 1991 SPLA/M split and many other examples has taught us that nothing could be accomplished when people are divided. South Sudan United Democratic Alliance SSUDA is not a military but a political that takes all its decision through political consultation based on the Party Constitution.
Effective from August 29, 2006 the South Sudan United Democratic Alliance (SSUDA) has suspended following individuals: Professor. David De Chand, Mr. Thomas Tut Doap, and Mr. Peter Chuol Gatluak. Until further notice these individuals should issue public statements on behave of the SSUDA
Finally, SSUDA Political Bureau calls on Professor David De Chand, whose name appeared as the new elected chairman to act responsibly in a civilized manner that matches whatever credentials he has as an intellectual who is part of the solution and not part of the problem. A written statement from David Chand himself denouncing the so-called leadership change would be an ideal one that would set our organization in the right track
