Iran, Sudan sign deal on medical cooperation
Sept 12, 2006 (ISFAHAN, Iran) — Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Training, Kamran Baqeri-Lankarani said here Tuesday that Iran signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sudan on expansion of medical cooperation particularly in the field of education.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of 53rd Session of WHO’s Regional Committee (RC) for East Mediterranean in Isfahan, said the minister., the state-run IRNA reported.
The minister said since Iran is quite capable in medical sciences, many of the 22 countries in the region have called on Iran to grant scholarships to their university students in medical sciences.
Already at the end of June, Iran and Sudan have signed five memoranda of understanding for bolstering bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, education and scientific research; adopt measures to avoid double taxation and other matters.
