Coptic Church demands ministerial posts in Sudanese govt
Oct 3, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — Coptic Church demanded inclusion of Coptic ministers in the government in a manner to represent their community in the current national unity government on the federal and regional levels.
Father Filuthaws of Al-Shahidayn Church in Khartoum has demanded Coptic ministers be included in the government and for permission to be granted for ten new churches to be constructed for the Omdurman and Khartoum parishes.
He was addressing the Iftar party organized yesterday by the Coptic community and attended by President omar al-Bashir.
The party was also attended by representatives of political parties, in particular the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and a number of Sufi sect personalities.
