Sudanese First Vice-President receives US envoy
Oct 16, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — The First Vice President Salva Kiir Mayardit today received the visiting US Envoy to the Sudan Andrew Natsios. They reviewed peace implementation and Darfur crisis.
Mayardit discussed Monday with the US president special envoy to Sudan the progress in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement implementation, and ways to resolve the Darfur conflict.
The First Vice President explained the undergoing contacts with the non-signatories of Abuja deal, he also spoke about the importance of restoring the good relations between the two countries in order to help peace process in the country.
Natsios pointed out that the visit was aimed backing the efforts aimed at achieving peace in Darfur saying he would visit southern Sudan and Darfur in the coming period.
