Sudan’s Bashir to address parliament on 30 October
Oct 21, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — The president Omar al-Bashir, is due to address on 30 October the opening sitting marking the beginning of a new session of the National Legislative Commission.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ahmad Ibrahim al-Tahir, said that the new session of the National Legislative Commission begins on 30 October and lasts till third week of January 2007, the official SUNA reported.
He said that the new session of the National Legislative Commission is due to review and approve a number of laws, including the Act of the Sudanese Parties, and the general budget for the year 2007.
Al-Tahir said that 12 deputies of the armed movements which have signed the Darfur Peace Agreement and other eight deputies of the Eastern Front will get membership of the National Assembly in its new session.
He welcomed the new deputies at the National Assembly who will boost the efforts for stability, peace and unity in the country.
