LRA and Sudan Military Intelligence
Is the LRA Terrorist Entity beneath the hex and Manipulation of Sudan Military Intelligence Service?
By Peter Lokarlo Marsu
October 28, 2006 — It shudders persons of conscience to visualize and fathom the real goal and intent of those contemptible hordes of bandits in conducting their unrestrained extravaganza of maiming and killing of innocent civilians at whim in South Sudan. Unmistakably, the so-called LRA have lost track of what they were primarily fighting for, and have apparently been hijacked by the National Congress Party and the National Islamic Front Party, brandishing power in Khartoum. Having charted out his flawed military strategy of defeating the invincible SPLA in the 1990s, Omar Al Bashir erroneously conceived the vision of supporting the LRA highwaymen in an attempt to topple President Museveni in Kampala, and that in effect would automatically have heralded and accelerated the demise of SPLM/A, an identical scenario to the one that led President Mengistu of Ethiopia to be ousted from power in 1990 by the combined forces of different rebel groups of Eritrea and Ethiopia. Hence the start of nurturing the LRA by Omar Al Bashir and Company. The LRA’s political schema then was to craft and realize the Mosaic Biblical Ten Commandments epoch in the heart of Africa.
It would nonetheless be sagacious and worthwhile to examine the joint venture of this interwoven matrix of conspiratorial machination in the making between the NCP/NIF on the one hand and the LRA on the other. The LRA yobbo have been moulded and fashioned by Khartoum to suit the contemporary rickety geopolitical terrain prevalent in South Sudan.
What tempted Khartoum to hold the LRA hostage and consequently effective tools for destabilising South Sudan? The NCP/NIF unquestionably are major stakeholders and beneficiaries of any imbroglio and Armageddon in South Sudan. The remaining five years leading to the 2011 referendum would inevitably witness upsurge in violence unless checked by the government in Juba. Khartoum has invested heavily on those despicable thieves, rapists and HIV Aids carriers to keep South Sudan ungovernable. The terrorists have been instructed by the Sudan’s Military Intelligence establishment to wreck the peace talks in Juba so that war becomes the sole available option. In that way South Sudan would remain a permanent battleground and the scheduled referendum would become a thing of the past. The mulish stance of the LRA terrorists at the negotiating table in Juba is a circumlocutory consequence of their hostage status. In addition to the LRA thugs, are a bunch of other outfit and makeshift criminals on the pay list of Khartoum to carry out the dirty jobs for them.
The government of South Sudan must invest profoundly in a plausible and comprehensive Security philosophy and structure that could safeguard the lives of the people in the region. It seems that the LRA despicable muggers have left little option for the government in Juba, other than the prospect of jettisoning overboard the bandits and forcing them out of South Sudan. Joseph Kony and Otti must understand that Khartoum will never back them directly this time as it used to be the case. Uganda was actually fighting against the government of Sudan and not the rag-tag soldiers of the LRA. If the thugs avail room for war again, it will be a matter of weeks before they are trounced and annihilated, wherever they may choose to hide themselves. Killing an SPLA officer and carrying out other massacres while peace talks are in progress is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated any more. It is time to employ iron fist against those thugs and their benefactors who have brought dejection and myriad miseries to millions of innocent population in the region.
