Sudanese president returns home from China
Nov 7, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Tuesday returned home Tuesday after participation in the Chinese-African Cooperation Forum which held in Chinese capital of Beijing.
Al Bashir departed to Sudanfrom Sanya, China’s southernmost city.
Al-Bashir visited the”Tianya Haijiao”, a famous scenic spot in Sanya. He said the beautiful scenery and comfortable climate have left him deep impression and he highly appreciated the achievement Hainan has made in tourism.
Al-Bashir also met with vice-general manager of the PetroChina Company Limited.
He noted that among all the projects which Sudan cooperated with foreign petroleum companies, the joint project with the PetroChina Company Limited is the best in progress and quality.
The Sudanese president kicked off his state visit to China last Wednesday for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held from 4-5 November.
He arrived at Sanya on Monday for his two-day visit in south China’s Hainan Province.
Al-Bashir arrived in China last Wednesday for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on the China-Africa Cooperation held on 4-5 November. A total of 48 African countries that have diplomatic relations with China attended the summit, a landmark event in China-Africa relations.
