Sudan urges Chad to stop supporting Darfur rebels
Nov 8, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — Sudanese presidential assistant, Nafie Ali Nafie, has urged Chad to halt its support to rebel groups, which refused to sign Darfur Peace Agreement.
Nafie said that Sudan will stretch a white hand to the Chadian government if it has suspended its support to the movements refusing to sign DPA.
Sudan denied any involvement of its war planes in clashes inside the Chadian territories, saying that N’Djamena made the accusation only to cover its support for rebels in Darfur.
Nafie said that the colonialist forces has used to utilize the little differences between African states for imposing a neo-colonialism in Africa that targets the continent’s people and resources.
He said that Sudan is too keen for prevalence of stability in neighboring Chad on ground that the prevalence of security and peace in Chad is necessary for peace, security and stability in Darfur.
He denied the claim of the government in the Central African Republic on Sudan support to rebels in the Central African Republic.
Nafie pointed out these allegations were made after a visit of the President of the Central African Republic to Chad. He expressed hope that stability will prevail in Chad and the Central African Republic toward existence of security and peace in the region.
