Nov 19, 2006 (TEHRAN) — Iran’s Petropars Company is conducting technical assessments on the development of an oil block in Sudan, Petropars managing director Gholam-Reza Manuchehri said here on Sunday.

This would be the second oversea project of Petropars, Manuchehri told the Mehr News Agency without elaborating further on the project.

He stated that the company’s first project abroad is the development of an oil block in Venezuela. “Currently studies are underway on the block and the construction operations will be launched within the next six months,” he added.

Referring to Petropars activities at the South Pars Phase 12, the official stated that the winners of a tender on constructing jackets have been identified and will be announced within the next couple of days.
