Sudanese al-Bashir to attend AU meeting on Darfur

Nov 24, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — The president Omar al-Bashir is expected to attend the AU Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) meeting to be held in Abuja on 29 November.

The president will also attend the Africa-South America Summit on 30 November in the Nigerian capital.

The AUPSC meeting which was supposed to be held in Congo Brazzaville on 24 November has been moved to Abuja. The meeting is meant to discuss the latest developments in Darfur as well as the future of AU troops after 31 December.
