Indian energy minister to visit Sudan in January to discuss oil projects
KHARTOUM, Dec 15, 2003 (SUNA) — The Indian oil minister is due to visit Sudan next January to discuss a number of projects related to the Indian investments in the Sudanese oil domain.
The counsellor at the embassy of India in Khartoum, Abdel Khaled Ismail, said in a statement to the Sudan news agency (SUNA) that the Indian oil minister will visit Sudan next January for holding further negotiations on the project of expanding and rehabilitating Port Sudan refinery at the cost of some 400m dollars and another project of a pipeline between Khartoum and Port Sudan at the cost of 750m dollars.
It is to be noted that the minister of energy and mining, Dr Awad Ahmad al-Jaz, visited last week India where he met the Indian oil minister and other officials.
