Al-Bashir, Zenawi discuss bilateral relations

Dec 7, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — President Omar Al-Bashir has expressed appreciation over the remarkable progress in the Sudanese-Ethiopian relations, affirming Khartoum’s keenness to develop further the relations with Addis Ababa in all fields.

This came when President Al-Bashir received the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, at the Friendship Hall here Thursday on the sidelines of the fifth summit of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States.

Al-Bashir reviewed during the meeting the latest developments in Sudan, particularly the peace efforts, besides the regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The meeting also reviewed the current ACP summit and its role in achieving the aspirations of the group and the region.

Zenawi arrived in Khartoum on Wednesday night for one day visit. He was accompanied by a high level. He left Khartoum on Thursday night to Addis Ababa.
