Sudanese Protestant college celebrates graduation 2006

Dec 9, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — The Nile Theological College (NTC), the first Protestant seminary in Sudan, made its graduation of sixth successful groups this year at the Cathedral Church in Khartoum Amarat.
The NTC’s 21 students gradated Friday 8 December are the sixth group for gradations this year. Other students were gradated last year.
The graduation ceremony was attended by many churches leaders and Government officials yesterday at primes of Cathedral church. Also the ceremony was attended by more than thousand people celebrating the day with difference style of traditional dances in Khartoum.
The College was established in 1991 by two Presbyterian churches in Sudan: The Sudan Evangelical Presbyterian Church, which has its roots in Egypt, and the Presbyterian Church of the Sudan.
In the decade of its existence, NTC has graduated 133 students including 12 women. Currently there are nearly 80 students (8 women) and 11 full-time and 4 part-time faculty.
Most classes are conducted in English.
NTC offers a four-year Bachelor of Arts in theological studies to prepare pastors and a three-year diploma in theological studies for Christian education teachers. It also offers a diploma in Enhanced Ministry.
