Niger, Sudan to strengthen cultural cooperation

Jan 22, 2007 (NIAMEY) — The official visit of the Sudanese culture minister to Niger ended with the release of a joint statement on Monday, committing the two countries to strengthening their friendly ties in art and communication.

“Niger and Sudan will deepen and promote cooperation in the fields of art and communication,” said the joint statement.

Mouhamed Zayi, the Sudanese culture minister, and his Nigerien counterpart Oumarou Hadary tackled various issues of mutual interest and expressed their strong will to enhance cooperation between the two countries in fields of art, youth and sports.

“The two parties concluded a framework agreement on cooperation which will be formalized by the signing of an agreement of cooperation covering the aforementioned domains,” said the statement.

The two ministers also expressed their satisfaction of the “excellent” bilateral relations.

“This visit re-emphasizes the will of the two countries to establish a cooperation framework,” said the Sudanese minister.
