Ethiopian minister visits Khartoum Refinery
Jan 25, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — The Ethiopian minister of energy visited today Khartoum Oil Refinery and Garri electric power stations complex.
The Ethiopian Minister of Mines and Energy, Ato Alemayehu Tegenu, on Thursday said that his visit to the refinery comes to benefit from Sudan experience. Tegenu is participating in the meetings of the Eastern Nile Basin states in Khartoum for discussing electric power projects between Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia.
On 7th meeting of the countries of Eastern Nile Basin which is to conclude session Thursday, the Ethiopian minister said the meetings is looking into ways of optimum use of the Blue Nile waters for the benefit of the people of the Nile states.
The Ethiopian minister discussed Wednesday with his Sudanese counterpart Awad al-Jaz a project of regional electricity network linking the member states.
Tegenu said that Addis Ababa will host the coming meeting of the group.
The Ethiopian Minister affirmed the important role being played by Sudan in boosting the cooperation in the region, explaining that the Sudanese – Ethiopian cooperation has witnessed tangible progress in the past years.
