Lakes State celebrates signing of inter-clan reconciliation deal

Feb 2, 20007 (RUMBEK) — Lakes States celebrated today here the signing of inter-clans reconciliation agreement as result of important efforts exerted by the State’s government and religious authorities.
Hundreds of young people from Rumbek East County site together and signed the peace accord at PACT in South Sudan Rumbek.” there was inter-clan’s conflict among the communities for a long period. Then New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC) and Lakes State local government push communities’ leaders and young warriors in the state to signed peace and Reconciliation package Friday.
In opening remarks from Minister of Local Governor Lakes State, Gordon Maker Abol, said that Lakes State government has used a lot of money in security plans issues since then state government was sworn in 2005. Abol call on young people and elders to be practicing peace, freedoms, Justice, Democracy as the way forward for development in South Sudan instead of abuse, killing and looting of properties from your brothers and sisters always.
The Regional representative New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC) Makur Bol Maker added that getting peace and reconciliation is not an easy task, because somebody may pick it up without objections, but you need to suffer first and get what you wanted that is called PEACE AND RECONCILIATION for peaceful Nation.
According to Kuc Abyei he said that we are committed to build Peace and Reconciliation in this Lakes State through young people and elders who really love peace and unity in Sudan.” but our vision must be forgiveness” which called Unity in diversity in GOSS policy.
According to Peace facilitator Mrs. A. Liliace says that the New Sudan Council of Churches (NSCC) as a ecumenical body which also representing civil society in Sudan is dealing directly with facilitation of grass root Peace, that is known as people to people peace initiatives to bring about transformation and development of all people in the Sudan. Its will be facilitating Youth Conferences and follow up of Pacong Peace and Reconciliation Conference held in Pacong last year, July 2006.
This conference was targeting the cattle camp youths to redirect their minds and energy focus for peace and unity. They are oriented to gainful activities that can improve their livelihoods for better future. The conference was held for two days discussion.
