Sudanese government, SPLM release joint communique

KHARTOUM, Dec 25, 2003 — The government and the [Sudan People’s Liberation] Movement have released a joint statement at the peace negotiations in Naivasha, Kenya.
The joint communique stated that great progress has been made so far on some outstanding issues, and the other issues are underway.
The statement expressed the resolve both parties to peace talks to reach a comprehensive peace agreement. [As heard]
The peace talks have been suspended for Christmas to be resumed on Friday.
