Egyptian leader, visiting Sudanese opposition leader discuss peace process
CAIRO, Dec 25, 2003 (MENA) — President Husni Mubarak’s interest in following up the latest developments in Sudan primarily aims at preserving Sudan’s unity and stability, an Egyptian official said on Thursday.
During his meeting today with leader of the Sudanese Democratic Unionist Party Muhammad Uthman al-Mirghani, Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Dr Yusuf Wali underscored Egypt’s keenness of having Egyptian and Sudanese experts pursue their efforts to draw up executive measures necessary for carrying out joint cooperation projects in agricultural field in the Nile Valley.
Mirghani delivered to Dr Wali an official copy of the framework accord which the former signed in Jedda with Sudanese First Vice- President Ali Uthman Taha with the aim of reaching a comprehensive solutions in Sudan.
Mirghani lauded stances adopted by Egypt towards the various Arab and international issues, he said.
