Eritrean opposition to debate on political charter
Feb 16, 2007 (ADDIS ABABA) — In its second days of deliberations, the Eritrean opposition alliance continued to discuss the activities report of its leadership. The meeting is expected to start tomorrow debate on the political charter.
The second conference of the opposition Eritrean Democratic Alliance (EDA) in Friday’s deliberation discussed the central committee’s report. Participants of the conference on Friday continued discussing the report tabled by the central committee on the alliance’s two years activities and achievements.
The participants are expected to endorse the central committee’s report, the spokesperson noted. He said as from tomorrow Saturday participants are to deliberate on the political charter of the organization.
The central committee’s report focused on the activities of the alliance on the diplomatic sector, public mobilization and propaganda, and also on the current situation in Eritrea.
The conference while assessing the current political situation in Eritrea noted that the Eritrean people have lost hope on the Isayas government and have started expressing their hatred by revolting against the regime, the EDA spokesperson said.
