Sudan, Italy agree to reactivate agricultural cooperation
Feb 18, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan and Italy agreed on formulation of a memo of understanding to reactivate the cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural fields and the economic sector.
This was affirmed at a meeting between the Minister of Agriculture, Engineer Mohamed al-Amin Kabashi, and his Italian counterpart on the sidelines of the meetings of the Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), which was held in Rome lately.
In a press statement following his return from Rome Sunday 18 February, the minister said that he agreed with his Italian counterpart during the meetings on formulation of a plan for joint projects that could be financed by Italy.
He said that they also agreed on organization of a specialized agricultural exhibition in Khartoum to display the Italian agricultural technology, the official SUNA reported.
Kabashi said that he agreed with the Italian minister of agriculture on work to strengthen the bilateral relations between the Sudanese and the Italian businessmen and establishment of a council for cooperation between them.
