Ethiopian, Sudanese, Yemeni leaders to meet in Addis Ababa on Monday
ADDIS ABABA, Dec 27 (AFP) — The heads of state or government of Ethiopia, its western neighbour Sudan and Yemen will meet in Addis Ababa on Monday for talks aimed at improving cooperation between the three states, the Ethiopian foreign ministry said.
Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, Sudanese President Omar al-Beshir and his Yemeni counterpart Ali Abdullah Saleh, will discuss the ways and means of strengthening political, economic and social relations during the two-day summit, the ministry said in statement late on Friday.
Their talks will also touch on peace and security in the Horn of Africa region, the statement said. A two-week trade and cultural exhibition organised in Addis Ababa to coincide with the summit will open on Saturday.
