Vice-president says peace agreement to be signed “shortly”
WAU, Southern Sudan, Dec 26, 2003 (SUNA) — Vice-president Prof Moses Machar, said peace is becoming imminent and fair, and comprehensive peace agreement would be signed shortly.
Sudan will witness development leap following the peace agreement, said Prof Machar while addressing Christmas celebrations here at the Catholic and Episcopal Churches. Prof Machar has conveyed President Umar al-Bashir’s congratulations on the occasion.
Addressing the celebrators, Dr Ali Hasan Taj-al-Din, the presidential advisor, has alluded to religious co-existence in Sudan and the people’s sticking to the national unity and peace.
The south will see comprehensive stability, said Angelo Beda, deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. Peace requires unity and solidarity and shunning tribal extremism, said archbishop of the Catholic church.
