8 judges appointed in Lakes State counties

Feb 21, 2007 (RUMBEK) — Eight judges were sworn in for the courts of Lakes counties in a ceremony attended by the South Sudan Chief Justice Ambrose Ring, Lt.Gen Daniel Awet Akot the governor of Lakes State, some high court justice member of Bhar-El-Gazal.

judges_sworn_in.jpgAmong those eight judges sworn on Tuesday Feb 20, was a woman.

Abraham Makoi Bol Kodi welcomed the nominations of the judges and stressed ton the need for a close cooperation between the Executive and the Judiciary authorities in the state. He also hailed effort exerted by the Lakes governor to establish security and order in the region.

The Governor Akot expressed his satisfaction to see the judges in Rumbek considering it as an important step towards the stability in the state.

While the chief Justice Ring exhorted the new judges to sprit of the constitutions and laws in the county and to apply it without discrimination.

The appointed judges in Lakes State are : Chabier Awad Al-Kharim, Abdulha Gordon komi, Daniel Deng Akol, Malou Yol Akool, Awut Mayak Deng, Mohamed Isack Al-sheik, Peter Nyok, Awan Manath Makoi.
