Sudan’s FM, Egyptian envoy discuss 4 freedom agreement
March 14, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — Sudanese foreign minister and the Egyptian ambassador in Khartoum discussed today the implementation of an accord signed in July 2004 to consolidate the bilateral ties.
Sudanese Foreign Minister Lam Akol on Wednesday received a message from his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Aboul Gheit on the implementation of the four-freedoms agreement. Egyptian ambassador Mohamed Abdelmuneim al-Shazli conveyed the message during a meeting with the Sudanese top diplomat.
In his message, Aboul Gheit wanted for the agreement to materialize on the ground, with nationals of both countries actually getting to exercise the freedoms of movement, residence, work and ownership.
Akol has, meanwhile, briefed Shazli on developments in the Western Sudanese region of Darfur and where things stood with the UN and the Human Rights Council.
