SLM-Minawi condemns killing of AU peacekeepers
March 14, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — The former rebel Sudan Liberation movement led by Minni Minawi has condemned the killing of two African Union peacekeepers earlier this month in Graida, South Darfur.
The presidential senior aide Minni Minawi reaffirmed his commitment to cooperate with AU mission and its troops in western Sudan. He further presented his condolence to the Nigerian government for the killing of the two soldiers.
Minawi visited the headquarters of the AU mission in Khartoum on Monday March 13 to express his regrets for the killing.

Sudan Liberation Movement/ Army (SLM/A)
March 13, 2007 — The Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM/A) expresses its deep regret and condemns in no uncertain terms the attack against AMIS personnel in Graida in South Darfur on 5 March 2007, that resulted in the death of tow soldiers of the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) from Nigerian contingency and wounding of a third .
The SLM/A, while it extend its sympathy and sincere condolence to the government and the people of Nigeria and the bereaved families, it reassures the AMIS, the Nigerian government and the international community of its unwavering commitment and cooperation with the CFC to successfully complete its investigation.
The SlM/A once again reaffirms its commitment to all the partners in Darfur peace process namely the African Union and its forces on the ground and stands to extend its utmost cooperation to fulfill their noble job in helping the suffering people of Darfur
