ONLF condemns burning of village in Ogaden by Ethiopia army

Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF)

17, March 2007 — The Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) strongly condemns the deliberate torching of the entire village of Mara’ato in the Qorahay province of Ogaden by Ethiopian troops. The villiage was completely destroyed by fires set deliberately by Ethiopian troops on March 15, 2007. The Villages crop was also burned.

This deliberate act is nothing less than State sponsored terrorism by the Ethiopian government targeting innocent civilians resulting in the loss of the livelihood of all the inhabitants of this villiage.

The ONLF will respond swiftly and decisively to this barbaric act.
