South African president to visit Sudan on Tuesday
April 7, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — South Africa’s President, Thabo Mbeki, is due to begin on Tuesday April 10 a two-day visit to Sudan to hold talks with Sudanese president, Omar al-Bashir, on bilateral relations and regional and international issues of mutual concern.
In a press statement to the official SUNA, the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Ali al-Sadiq, said that the president of South Africa would visit Juba city to meet with the first vice-president and president of South Sudan Government, Salva Kiir.
He indicated that President Mbeki will get acquainted during the visit on implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and the efforts being adopted in the fields of rehabilitation and construction and the re-settlement of the refugees and displaced people.
