African Trade Union meeting ends in Khartoum

KHARTOUM, Jan 11, 2004 — The 8th conference of the Organization of the African Trade Union unity [has] concluded session in Khartoum with a number of recommendations, which represented the organization’s vision, programmes and plans.
The conference coincided with the progress of realizing the country’s peace negotiations, which are taking place in Kenya.
The conference stressed their [unions] role in the content’s stability and its development. More detail in the coming report.
The Organization of the African Trade Union unity is an entity which targets Africans from different walks of life, due to that fact it could play a vital role in the different aspects of life and be involved in the political, economical and social issues.
However, the problem of the African instability always emerge as a main obstacle against the continent’s development. Fortunately, eighth conference of the organization was taking place in Khartoum, when real steps have been achieved towards the realization of lasting peace in the country.
The president of the Trade Union Federation of East Africa highlighted the organization’s role in the African stability and remarks to the peace process in Sudan.
