Burundi defense ministry receives a gift from Sudan

May 24, 2007 (BUJUMBURA) — The Burundi minister of national defence, Lt-Gen Germain Niyoyankana on Thursday at the Bujumbura airport received a gift of IT equipment and medical supplies offered by Sudan to Burundi.

According to the head of the Sudanese delegation who brought the said gift – Col PSS Amin Saeed – the gift came in the framework of the good relations of friendship and good cooperation between the two countries.

The gift comprises 50 hospital beds 50 mattresses, 120 computers, a lot of medical supplies as well as a car offered to the Burundi minister of national defence by his Sudanese counterpart, Burundi radio reported today.

Minister Niyoyankana said he was happy with the gift accorded Burundi by Sudan, adding that he had made known to the Sudanese minister of defence the difficulties facing his ministry on his visit to Sudan in January.

    As we’ve read about the gift given to the mentioned country. I am not aganist that, but i would like to put it as this. There are people in this Sudan who are in serious need of the mentioned items. Specially, Darfur and South. Even the far North of the country. I am sure there are many hospitals in places i put need these beds and mattresses. So pls. let’s see the corners of our room when they are OK, than we can gift.
