Al-Bashir, defence minister attends officers’ passing out ceremony

KHARTOUM, Jan 12, 2004 (SUNA) — President of the republic and C-in-C of the armed forces Umar al- Bashir, National Defence Minister Bakri Hasan Salih and a number of military commanders, at Karrari Technical Academy this afternoon attended a passing out ceremony.

The passing out ceremony included 50th batch of Military College, sixth batch of the Marine Academy, fourth batch of Karrari Academy of Technology and a number of students from sisterly and friendly countries.

Defence Minister Major-Gen Bakri addressed the occasion which was attended by thousands of members of the graduand’s families. He praised the progress being made in military academies. He stressed that the general command would continue to conduct training for the armed forces and to make their needs available to enable them to confront the challenges of the next phase. He said the graduating officers would be guardians of the coming peace.

The officers presented beautiful military parade and shows which were admired by attendance.
