Indonesian oil firm awarded 15 pct stake in oil-gas exploration block in Sudan
June 28, 2007 (JAKARTA) — Indonesian state oil and gas firm, PT Pertamina, said it has won a tender for a 15 pct stake in an oil and gas block in Sudan.
Upstream director Sukusen Soemarinda said other stakeholders in the site include China National Petroleum Company (CNPC) and Sudan’s national oil company, Sudapet.
He said the stakeholders plan to complete exploration work within three years of their signing of a joint operation contract last Tuesday.
Awad Ahmad al-Jaz, the Minister of Energy and Mining, signed on Tuesday June 26 at the Sudanese Petroleum Organization at the ministry’s premises the production-sharing agreement in Bloc 13 between the Sudanese government and a number of national and foreign oil and gas companies.
These companies were Sudan’s Sudapet, the Chinese National Oil Company, Indonesia’s Petromina, Addendir International Petroleum of Sudan, and two Nigerian Companies, namely Express for oil and gas and Africa Energy.
