Undersecretary says peace talks on three areas “progressing well”

KHARTOUM, Jan 18, 2004 — Members of the government’s negotiating team Dr Nafi Ali Nafi at the Ministry of Federal Government Chamber [has] briefed the Council of Ministers on the progress of peace negotiations which is currently taking place at Naivasha, Kenya.

Concerning wealth-sharing agreement signed in Naivasha, member of the government delegation Dr Taj-al-Sir Mahjub said that it was reached in accordance with Machakos protocol, adding that the two sides have agreed that the resources management institutions should be unified.

For his part, Deputy Foreign Minister Dr Mutrif Siddiq stated that the negotiations about the three areas is underway and progressing well.
