Ethiopia tricolor revolution
By Aklilu Demissie
July 22, 2007 — The resounding defeat of the Kangaroo Kourt of Zenawi by the most revered pioneers of democracy has once again shined and deep rooted the fig of democracy and freedom in Motherland Ethiopia. They have shown their maturity by letting a tyrant at least have the time to learn that relying on the power of the gun is nothing than regressing to the dark ages in today’s world of unprecedented sophistication. A sophistication which is far superior compared to tribal ethnic village gang leadership.
What makes the Ethiopian people proud of their elected leaders is that, they never for a single second recognized the legitimacy of the Kangaroo Kourt Zeawi established. It is also shocking for Zenawi to have come to the media that his sham trial innuendo to have resulted in one of unheard pardoning. What is exceedingly pathetic is that the Popular Leaders had to languish in his dungeon for crimes they have never committed and all the non sense that his utterly faltering trained witnesses brought were shattered by the resilient Leaders.
Praise be to the All mighty and the extensive struggle in Motherland Ethiopia, the Diaspora, and to the characteristic charisma of our Popular Leaders of the Coalition for Unity and Democracy Party (CUDP-Kinijit) another colorful victory against the tyrant has been successfully achieved.
All that seemed impossible to attain has now been shattered and the tyrant has eventually succumbed to the Power of the People. It is a historical period where the Popular Leaders of CUDP- Kinijit against all odds of misery and heinous treatment have once again surfaced with a glorious victory through sheer strength of their unswerving spirit, determination, and genius leadership skills.
For those who might have noticed all news releases from major international outlets, almost all the titles were about our “Popular Leaders”, which has effectively proved who the leaders of Ethiopia are!
The tyrant is foolishly circulating his fabricated pardon statement, which was never even addressed to him originally, by concocting his mischievous letter in an attempt to save his now shattered murderous ego. The regime like the attempt of Italian Occupiers in the Treaty of Wechale of May 1889, has totally deleted the substance of the negotiations, again marking his patent, scintillating insignia of treachery.
If there is any tyrant in the whole world who has almost collected the entire citizens’ signature and thinks collectable signatures would give a lifeline to his power grip other than his guns is only tyrant Zenawi. It is pathetic seeing the great land to be a play ground of coerced signature mania.
Our leaders are now out of physical prisons. But the entire nation is still under arrest; forcefully lead by unelected murderers. A non existent constitutional order and rule of law has become an assailing tool in battering citizens demanding freedom and democracy. Whatever poignant tricks come from Zenawi, the victorious struggle will continue until the entire nation is liberated from tyranny.
The bravado in front of local and international media, as if his murderous regime stood on its foot is an astounding part of the craze.
The tyrant tried to deny that political forces from out side and inside of the country, and the spirit and determination of the unjustly incarcerated Leaders, to have never forced the release of Prisoners of Conscience. He even had the term “Banana Republic” for respected US legislators. Well, the old meaning of the word might have been used for countries in Latin America and the Caribbean that had become a foreign enclave of Anglo-American and Spanish rule and control. By the same token, it was used for other colonies. When we come to its modern usage, it describes a generally unstable or “backward” dictatorial regime, especially one where elections are often fraudulent and corruption is rife. It also relates to a tyrant who hands out appointments and advantages to friends and supporters, without much consideration for the law. The tyrant was rather inadvertently telling the world who he was.
Vicious, insolent diatribes against foreign dignitaries committed to promoting democracy would continue and may be tolerated by State Department officials as long as Zenawi pays lobbyists in Washington, D.C. But the theme of Zenawi being part of an alliance against terror is rapidly disappearing from the Capitol Hill as many legislators have beyond any shadow of doubt realized the unworkable computation with a terrorist that terrorizes its own citizens.
Some legislators, paralyzed by the regime’s lobbyists, should realize the future of Ethiopia is at stake if they continue reneging on democratic aspirations of Ethiopians. The demand for democracy and freedom should not be paralyzed by pay checks sent for election campaigns of a legislator from Zenawi’s pathetic lobbyists. The sum comes from a mouth of a malnourished and starving Ethiopian child. The tyrant can prance with a spear and shield on his back yard as long as he pays- the Money. The Europeans, sick to the stomach of Zenawi’s verbal void assurances of democracy, have now completely abandoned any hope of expectation from Zenawi.
Obviously, Yamamoto admitted that there was no democracy in Ethiopia as he outlined, since it had taken 38 years for a free and fair democratic election to be conducted in the US. And it was no surprise for him not to see it [democracy] in Ethiopia. There is no need to expound on political psyche and maturity of Ethiopians. And if the US had never dictated states for democratic change, probably Yamamoto was never there.
In Ethiopia there was no Orange, Rose or for that matter Velvet Revolution, but one thing is certain that there is the Tricolor Revolution (Green/Yellow/Red) going on. It will continue and reverberate across the nation. No one is certain whether Zenawi’s fate will end as Nicolai Chauchesku of Romania.
