KHARTOUM, Jan 22, 2004 — The joint government and SPLM [Sudan People’s Liberation Movement] technical committees yesterday continued their talks on the Nuba mountains and southern Blue Nile [disputed] regions, in the Kenyan town of Naivasha, without achieving any major breakthrough in the pending issues.
Investigations by Al-Anba reported that after the talks, the two committees would issue reports to be submitted during the meeting between the first vice-president and the SPLM leader.
Well informed sources said the two parties had not yet specified the date of adjournment of the sessions. However, the government official spokesman, Sayyid al-Khatib, said talks between the two technical committees would continue.
