JARCH’S PRE-CPA CONTRACTS TO BECOME OBLIGATIONS OF THE GOVERNMENT OF SOUTH SUDAN
August 9, 2007 — Jarch has been informed that its pre-CPA agreements are acknowledged and that these agreements are “valid, binding, and enforceable” obligations of the Government of South Sudan (GOSS). Jarch has been told that its agreements have been signed off at the highest level of GOSS. Jarch officials and GOSS officials have been meeting for months. President Salva Kiir and General Paulino Matip have agreed that the Jarch agreements would be paramount and become obligations of GOSS.
Though not required by the agreements, Jarch announced that 10% of its profits from South Sudan would go back to the people.
