PRESS RELEASE

The British Embassy in Khartoum announces the resumption of public services from 23 August.

Due to a heightened threat of terrorist attacks in Khartoum, public services at the Embassy were suspended from 19 to 22 August. We now judge that the current security situation allows for these services to be resumed with additional security.

The Visa and Consular sections of the Embassy will be open at the normal times until further notice. Applications for visas must be handed in to the Embassy between 08.30 and 09:00, on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday. The Consular Section is open from 8.30a.m to 1.30p.m. Sunday to Thursday.

The British Embassy thanks the Government of Sudan for their continued co-operation during this time of heightened security.
