Kuwait affirms to support Sudan in post-war period
KHARTOUM, Jan 24, 2004 (SUNA) — The foreign minister of Kuwait has stressed his country’s support to Sudan in the current stage and after the signing of the peace agreement.
This came in a telephone call on Thursday between the foreign minister, Dr Mustafa Uthman Isma’il and his Kuwaiti counterpart. The Kuwaiti foreign minister said that Kuwait is committed to boost implementation of development projects in Sudan.
Meanwhile, Dr Isma’il and his Kuwait counterpart agreed on convocation of the meetings of the joint Sudanese, Kuwaiti ministerial committee in next April. In a press statement, Dr Isma’il said that he expressed during the call Sudan appreciation to Kuwait’s support, especially in the development, roads and electricity power as well as the establishment of Merowe Dam.
