Sudan to host Palestinian refugees trapped on Iraqi borders

August 29, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan has agreed to host Palestinian refugees stuck on the Iraqi borders with Syria and Lebanon.

Sudanese president Omar Al-Bashir told Azam Al-Ahmed, envoy from Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, that his country is willing to take in the refugees.

Palestinians in Iraq have come under increasing pressure to leave since the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. Over 19,000 Palestinians have fled since that time.

However more than 1,400 refugees are trapped on the border with Syria, which refuses to grant them entry.

Al-Ahmed told the Palestinian news agency that his government will contact Arab and international organizations to facilitate the repatriation of the refugees to Sudan.

Two decades of conflict, famine and widespread insecurity in Sudan have triggered the largest internally displaced person population in the world. More than 4 million Sudanese, including nearly 2 million in Darfur, struggle to find clean water, adequate food and critically needed medical help.

A barbaric leader with limited mind of world affairs!

where is the position of the People’s Party (SPLM)in all these illegal activities which the rogue government of arabs in Khartuom have been carrying out since the signing of the CPA?

Omar himself and his government are not capable of hosting refugees from middle east while the people from his country are fleeing the insecurity they have in the country! people like omar bashir don’t judge themselves from the outcomes of their actions! This is third world stuff, you don’t host refugees while you don’t have enough security in the country!

There have been flowing of arabs into Sudan since the war erupted in Darfur in between 2002 and 2003 and March this year! there’s something behind this influx of arabs into Sudan without consulting the other major parties of the country like SPLM.

SPLM don’t have to keep quite in all these matters, this is the way things get out of hand, omar used to act according to his mind of dictatorship without involving other bodies of the counrty!

As a Sudanese, I strongly oppose the hosting of Palestianian refugees. You don’t prepare a tea with pepper power as a sugar and blood as water! We already have bloodshed in Darfur and we don’t want other arabs refugees in the Sudan! These arabs later become militia and use by omar to kill African tribes like what is going on now in Darfur!

Other refugees like omar himself now become burden on the shoulders of the very people who are the native of the land!
SPLM should always have to oppose any unnecessary moves which are not beneficial to African tribes in Sudan!

Leaders with hatred within them always don’t rule people with prosperity!

It is an idea of a mad cow with madcow disease!

That is unacceptable!. Bashir has a latent plan not for the reason that no Arab countries volunteered to settle the Palestinian. He is bringing in the remnants of Fatah al Islam that fled Lebanon to destabilise the South and Darfur.
This act now proves that Bashir is drifting Sudan further away towards the Arab world. Sudan is an African nation, why and why on earth are we importing the murderers of innocent Lebanese; to come and slaughter us tomorrow in Higlig.
Sudanese people must rise to resist Bashir because the move is only equivalent to invasion of African nation by the Arab world.
