Religious liberties in Sudan under focus
KAMPALA, Jan 26, 2004 — A forum beginning today in the Ugandan capital will make an attempt to improve the conditions in Sudan as part of a peace agreement between the Sudanese government and Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).
The ‘Constitutional Arrangement in Sudan’ forum, organised by the Cairo Centre for Human Rights Studies, will bring together a number of Sudanese, Arab and foreign experts and representatives of international and Arab human rights organisations.
The discussions, which will continue for more than two days, will focus on religion in Sudan, self-determination right in certain provinces, rights and political freedom, relation of the Sudanese army with politics, and so on.
