KHARTOUM, Jan 26, 2004 — The Council of Ministers chaired by the president of the republic, Lt-Gen Umar al-Bashir, has approved agreement on four codes of freedom [of movement, residence, work and ownership of property], which were recently endorsed at Cairo summit.
Another agreement to boost investment in strategic fields between Sudan and Egypt was also approved.
The council, at a briefing session on the president’s visit to Cairo and his meeting with the Egyptian counterpart Husni Mubarak, last week, commended results achieved by the Cairo summit.
The summit had removed constraints between the two countries and restored normalcy that transcended all levels of previous relations.
The council called for an effective action for improved mechanism [to heighten the agreement].
