Sudan first vice-president congratulates nation on advent of Ramadan

September 13, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — First Vice-President and President of Southern Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit has congratulated President Al-Bashir, the Government of National Unity and all Sudanese and Muslims on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

Sudan began observing the holy month of Ramadan on Thursday as it is the case for most of Mideast countries and other Islamic African countries.

Slava Kiir who returned to his office at the presidency in Khartoum on Tuesday after more than month, also received on Wednesday the president Omer al-Bashir at the airport after his participation in Ethiopia’s millennium celebrations.
