US Senate to hold hearing on Sudan divestments
October 1, 2007 (WASHINGTON) — The Senate Banking Committee announced it will hold a hearing Wednesday to examine combating genocide in Sudan through divesting investments.
Witnesses will include U.S. Sens. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., and Sam Brownback, R-Kan., officials from the State Department, the Treasury Department, public and private investment groups, and policy groups, including the Sudan Divestment Task Force.
